    Karen Bersbach

Florida – Karen Bersbach, 58, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, died January 9, 2017, at Moffitt Cancer Care Center, Tampa.

Karen Bersbach was born March 19, 1958, in Chicago, the daughter of William M. & Edna E. (Swango) Bersbach.

After her parents divorced in 1968, Karen was reared by her single mother. Soon after the divorce they moved to St. Petersburg, Florida.

In 1976, after graduation from high school, Karen started working for Florida Power, ending her career as a technician in the water treatment laboratory. Karen took great pride in her work, which was important to prevent corrosion of pipes in the boilers.
    Karen never married.

Karen was an avid member of local Union 682 and was head of political actions committee.  Even in retirement from Duke Energy Karen continued to represent local 682 at local political functions until illness forced her to step down.  Thank you Karen for your service to your brothers and sisters and the organization
